STEM Oak Ridge National Laboratory Scholarship

Southern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission (SAP&DC), along with the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), would like to invite students and high school teachers in Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Fulton, Huntingdon, and Somerset Counties to apply for this year’s summer STEM Program at Oak Ridge National Universities in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

This all-expenses-paid opportunity allows students and teachers to work with world-class scientists at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Opportunities are available for Appalachian students and teachers focusing on STEM science, technology, engineering, and math. At ORNL, Students participate in intensive hands-on science, math, and computer science technology group research projects with award-winning scientists, and the teachers work with science practitioners to develop a STEM-related curriculum

This year’s program for high school students and teachers will run for two weeks: July 5-17, 2020. The program for middle school students will run for one week: July 11-17, 2020. Up to 52 high school participants (26 students and 26 teachers), and up to 26 middle school students will be accepted.
